Are you tired of feeling like you’re always on edge, constantly teetering on the brink of frustration and exhaustion caring for a loved one with Dementia?

If so, you’re not alone. The demands of Dementia caregiving can test even the most patient souls, leaving you feeling drained, overwhelmed, and utterly depleted.

But what if there was a way to reclaim your peace of mind, restore your sense of calm, and rediscover the patience

Why Focus on Patience?

Let’s face it: patience isn’t just a virtue in dementia caregiving – it’s a lifeline. But in the face of constant uncertainty, unpredictable behaviors, and relentless demands, maintaining patience can feel like an uphill battle.

That’s where “Understanding Dementia” comes in – offering you the tools, techniques, and strategies you need to develop a reservoir of patience that’s as deep as it is unshakable.

Hello there! I’m Larea Mcqueen

Since 2009. I’ve been helping those who found their lives interrupted by Dementia to better understand Dementia and prepare for the changes headed their way.

As an RN, I have cared for Dementia patients with all types of Dementia, in each stage of Dementia, and in all types of settings.

I have cared for those with Dementia in their homes, assisted living facilities, memory care units, nursing homes, and hospice care.

I’ve been providing care to those with dementia in virtually every way you can think of. As a nurse to literally tens of thousands of people with Dementia, I’ve also had the opportunity to interact with their caregivers.

Throughout my years of Dementia caregiving, I made an important discovery. I discovered there were really two groups of Dementia caregivers …

Overwhelmed Guardians

A caregiver who often feels like they’re fighting a losing battle against the relentless challenges of dementia care.

Someone who courageously steps up to care for a loved one with dementia but finds themselves drowning in a sea of confusion, frustration, and stress.

Despite their best intentions, they feel ill-equipped to handle the daily struggles, leading to feelings of overwhelm and helplessness.

Compassionate Companions

A caregiver who approaches dementia care with empathy, understanding, and unwavering compassion.

Someone who not only cares for their loved one with dementia but does so with an open heart and a gentle touch.

They understand the importance of patience, empathy, and unconditional love in the caregiving journey. They strive to create a nurturing environment where their loved one feels valued, respected, and supported every step of the way.

They not only enrich the life of their loved one with dementia but also find fulfillment, purpose, and deep connection in their caregiving experience.

Needless to say, I paid attention to the Compassionate Companions and learned firsthand the EXACT strategies they were using to cultivate patience, foster empathy, and provide unparalleled support to their loved ones with dementia.

So…

After years of providing education and support to thousands of dementia caregivers through my Alzheimers In Your Home website, I decided to create a course to help caregivers develop patience by better understanding dementia and the dementia-related changes they may encounter.

I wanted to take everything I had learned and apply it to a fresh new site. I wanted to see if I could create an online video course that was down to earth, easy to understand, and would help dementia caregivers develop more patience and understanding.

I tested my discoveries AND IT WORKED!

Understanding Dementia: A Beginner’s Guide™” has transformed the caregiving experience for many, offering practical insights and compassionate guidance. This course empowers caregivers with the knowledge and tools they need to navigate their journey with confidence and empathy. Now, I’m excited to share it with you, so you too can experience the profound impact of understanding and patience in dementia care.

And the results speak for themselves...

Brenda T.

“This course allows caregivers to learn, at their leisure, the ins and outs of dementia…what it is, ideas of things that can be expected and how to handle it with helpful tips and ideas. The short quiz after each video helps reinforce the lessons in the video. If you’re new to this caregiving journey, or just need a refresher/reminder, this course can be a useful resource.”

Sherry D.

“This course opened my eyes to the reality of living with dementia. I’ve learned to slow down, be patient, and really listen to my mom. It’s made a huge difference in our relationship.”

Jeff M.

“Learning about the stages of dementia and what to expect was invaluable. I’m more patient and less stressed because now I know why she is doing the things she does and I know how to respond in the right way.”

The point is, with the right dementia education you can transform not only your understanding of the condition but also the entire dynamic of your relationship with your loved one who has dementia.

And now, I’d like to share Understanding-Dementia: A Beginners Guide™ with you

The challenge with a website is that I can only serve a limited audience at a time. I knew more people could benefit from what I was teaching in a video course, so I developed Understanding-Dementia: A Beginners Guide™. If you join us, I’d love to help you, too.
